Alana Hawkins, M.A., LPC Associate

Supervised by Shannon Kouser, LPC Supervisor

My journey in Mental Health began at the University of North Texas, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Applied Behavior Analysis degree. To further my passion and gain knowledge on how to assist others, I then pursued counseling, obtaining a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling degree from the University of Texas at Tyler. I am currently working under the supervision of Shannon Kouser as I continue my professional growth.

I take a client-centered approach to therapy, meaning I believe you are the expert on your own life. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard and understood. I incorporate interventions from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), but I also recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to healing. I am passionate about serving others and tailoring therapy to what works best for each individual.

I specialize in working with women and adolescents navigating self-esteem challenges, anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions. I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and take the time to truly understand each client’s background, values, and unique experiences.

Reaching out for support is a brave first step, and I commend you for taking it. My goal is to walk alongside you in your journey toward healing, self-discovery, and personal growth.

When I’m not in session, I enjoy thrifting, spending time with my family, reading, and being outdoors.

I look forward to working with you!
