My name is Denay Woodruff and I am a speech-language pathologist and owner of Rooted Speech Therapy.

My mission is to improve the quality of life for my clients by treating speech sound and orofacial myofunctional disorders through individualized therapy that is convenient and fun. As a speech-language pathologist, I have treated a variety of people and communication disorders. It wasn't until I discovered the transformative techniques of orofacial myofunctional therapy that I started seeing faster and longer-term progress in my clients. Specializing in this type of therapy allows me to get to the root of dysfunction in order to improve communication, swallowing, oral function and overall health.

I personalize therapy sessions to meet the unique emotional, physical, and communication needs of each person, and partner with parents to educate and empower their child.

I am certified by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA) and am licensed in the state of Texas. I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies from Westmont College and a Master of Science in Communication Disorders from the University of Texas at Dallas. I have worked in a variety of settings, including private practice, public school, and teletherapy. My area of specialty is orofacial myofunctional disorders and speech sound disorders. I have completed extensive training in orofacial myofunctional disorders and am continually advancing my expertise, ensuring the skills and knowledge necessary to treat clients with OMDs.

In my spare time, you can find me traveling to new places with my family, grabbing coffee and going on walks with friends, playing board and card games, and spending time with my husband, son, and our Dalmatian.
